PLASMAFILTER “ROSA”

The filter is designed to be used in plasmapheresis procedures through

the membrane in chronic and acute diseases for a treatment of detoxification

and for plasma donation. Additional benefits include:

  • short priming
  • no need for substitutes fluids plasma replacement
  • no rembaund effect
  • short treatment time

The device can be used both for therapeutic purposes for which the plasma donation.

This equipment can be also used in pediatric patients and hemodynamically unstable patients

due to the reduced volume of filling of the extracorporeal circuit.

Even in infants (> 700 g) can be performed using  plasmapheresis plasma filter ROSA ™ only connected to a syringe of 10ml.

The whole blood which arrives to the ROSA filter fulfills the first room (blood room) where there are the membrane filter and then passes through the plasma camera; in this way plasma is separated form the cellular elements.

Feature of insignificant resistance to the blood flow through the filter rooms represents an advantage to the plasma since it enhances the haematic flow steadiness.

Plasmapheresis with ROSA plasmafilter is performed with Hemofenix, with discontinuous flow and single needle access. According to the Manufacturer in case of substitution liquid infusion at the same time a second independent and manual vascular access is required.

THERAPEUTIC

Plasmapheresis can be performed for therapeutic purposes for different clinical indications in nephrology, hematology, obstetrics and gynecology, cardiology, surgery, neurology, oncology, dermatology, pediatrics.

The goal of therapeutic plasmapheresis is to remove some toxic substances to the body and cause disease.

The therapeutic apheresis is able to remove the circulating pathogenic solutes, but also to act to release the mononuclear phagocyte system (enhancing the endogenous removal of circulating pathogenic substances and the stimulation of lymphocyte clones, so as to make them more sensitive to cytotoxic chemotherapy), therefore, in addition to an action of an immunomodulating effect also presence removal.

PRODUCTION / DONATION

The Hemofenix system is particularly suitable for cell separation in the purpose of donation which can be performed in order to subtract the donor plasma only, returning the corpuscular part, that appeal to the red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets.
